ChangeXL and Lauwersoog work together to make the port more sustainable

From 2 December 2019, the port of Lauwersoog decided together with Gulf Bunkering and Oliehandel Klaas de Boer to provide ChangeXL fuel to all ferries, fishing boats and other customers of the Cooperative Purchasing and Sales Association (C.I.V.) Lauwersoog in order to make the port more sustainable. Gerard Weidenaar, Manager of Lauwersoog, is happy with this switch. “With ChangeXL, we deliver cleaner and better fuel to our customers, which is also better for the environment”.

93,887 trees
The enzyme technology in ChangeXL is biological and contains no chemical components, metals or ash. It significantly reduces CO2, NOx, soot and particulate matter emissions. “Annually, around 11 million liters of fuel are supplied to the port of Lauwersoog. By switching to ChangeXL, we are achieving a CO2 emission reduction of 1,878 tonnes. This CO2 saving is equal to the purifying value of 93,887 trees on an annual basis,” says Alex Fehrman, product specialist ChangeXL.

Cleaner
Environmental performance is increasingly becoming an integral part of the business process. About ChangeXL
The effects of ChangeXL are based on a mixture of natural enzymes, also known as biocatalysts. The unique enzyme concentrate ensures a molecular change of the fuel, which leads to faster and more complete combustion. The enzymes continue to work throughout the fuel chain. In this way ChangeXL cleans fuel systems from tanks to engines. ChangeXL breaks down (condensed) water that is present in fuel, and prevents problems with bacteria, moulds and yeasts by eliminating them and dissolving them in the fuel. This results in cleaner fuel, cleaner storage tanks with less sludge and a longer fuel storage life. The cleaning effect of ChangeXL ensures more continuity and less unwanted downtime due to better fuel quality.
