The Port of Den Oever reduces 1,292 tons of CO2 by using ChangeXL
3 June 2019 – Supported by their members, all fishing trawlers and other customers of the Cooperative Purchasing and Sales Association (C.I.V.) Den Oever will sail on ChangeXL on 1 June 2019. Sander van Rijswijk, manager of Den Oever, is happy with this switch. “With ChangeXL, we have a quality fuel that is better for the engines and better for the environment.”
64.600 trees
The enzyme technology in ChangeXL is biological and contains no chemical components, metals or ash. It significantly reduces CO2, NOx, soot and particulate matter emissions. “We sell around 8 million liters of fuel on an annual basis. The use of ChangeXL results in an reduction of CO2 emission of 1,292 tons. For this result, 64,600 trees are needed for a year to absorb that amount of emissions.”
Winter weather
“Three years ago we switched from red gas oil to ultra-low-sulfur diesel (ULSD). With this switch, CO2 emissions on our fleet were clearly reduced, a greener image. Furthermore, the C.I.V. had the advantage that they could also deliver a winter-resistant oil. A logical next step is to switch to ChangeXL now. A product with added value. ”

About ChangeXL
The effects of ChangeXL are based on a mixture of natural enzymes, also known as biocatalysts.
